Scottie Scheffler is the FedExCup Champion.
Sunday belonged to the number one player in the world as it has so often over the last handful of years. Viktor Hovland looked like he might make a run at the title at East Lake when the day began, but unfortunately for him it was not in the cards.
We have grown so accustomed to Scottie dominating the world as he has been doing so with relative ease for about five years now. He should, now especially, win Player of the Year for a fifth time in a row which really speaks to how much this all really is his world.
From a literal standpoint all there is left for Scottie to accomplish is the Career Grand Slam by way of a U.S. Open title. He is showing no signs of slowing down and so perhaps we really are just getting started here. So many have tried to compare him to Tiger Woods and his run of dominance… nothing will ever be that, but it feels like we are closer than we thought we might ever get.
Scottie Scheffler won a golf tournament on Sunday. Think about how many times you have read that sentence.
How many more will you in the future?
