Legendary ahead Len Shackleton made the transfer from Newcastle United to rivals Sunderland on at the present time again in 1948, signing for £20,050. The deal was a document switch payment on the time.

Shackleton had began his profession at Bradford Park Avenue earlier than becoming a member of Newcastle in 1946. After scoring six objectives on his debut for The Magpies, Shackleton scored 22 objectives in 38 video games.

By the top of the 1947/48 season, Shackleton scored 4 objectives in 14 appearances. He would keep at Roker Park till 1958, scoring an additional 96 objectives in 334 video games.
