Australian wildcard Nick Kyrgios has upset world No.8 Casper Ruud of Norway within the third spherical at Indian Wells.

Nick Kyrgios has continued his spectacular run at Indian Wells, eliminating world No.8 Casper Ruud within the third spherical.

It’s the twenty first top-10 win of Kyrgios’ profession – and his first since January 2020.

Kyrgios powered to victory in 76 minutes, firing seven aces and never dealing with a break level within the 6-4 6-4 triumph.

The victory propels the world No.132 right into a fourth-round showdown with world No.10 Jannik Sinner.

Kyrgios is aiming to advance to the quarterfinals for the second time within the Californian desert, having beforehand reached that stage in 2017.

Earlier as we speak, Daria Saville booked her spot within the fourth spherical within the girls’s singles competitors. The Aussie qualifier posted a hard-fought 6-3 4-6 6-3 victory towards No.20 seed Elise Mertens.
