Indiana cheerleaders rescued a caught ball vs. Saint Mary’s and have become legends


A sport between No. 5 seed Saint Mary’s and No. 12 seed Indiana within the first spherical of the 2022 NCAA match needed to be paused close to the beginning of the second half after the ball acquired caught behind the backboard. The officers met with gamers from each groups and did every little thing they might to get the ball down, bringing out a chair and mop, with no success.

That’s when the Indiana cheerleaders stepped as much as the problem.

A cheerleader from the Hoosiers lifted one other cheerleader above his head so she might rescue the ball. The second drew big applause from the group in Portland and an excitable name from announcer Andrew Catalon who was calling the sport. Watch the second right here:

“She’s performed it! What a play!” Catalon exclaimed. “The cheerleader saves the day! And that’s her ‘One Shining Second.’”

It most likely would have been higher for the Hoosiers if the ball stayed up there all sport. Saint Mary’s ran away with a blowout victory, 82-53, to advance to the spherical of 32. This was Indiana’s fifth sport in seven days after reaching the Huge Ten match semifinals after which defeating Wyoming within the First 4.
